We helped a leader in tech solutions designed for the fashion industry implement a microsite in China.
Headquartered in France, Lectra is a technology company that specializes in CAD software and CAM cutting-room systems for industries using leather and textiles.
Lectra approached WPIC Marketing + Technologies to implement the China microsite amodelforchange.cn within a short time frame.
After developing a comprehensive action plan, WPIC on-boarded stakeholders and acquired the desired new microsite domain.
Lectra’s licensing and legal documents were collected, verified and submitted. WPIC liaised with the Chinese government to obtain an Internet Service Provider (ICP) license, which allows the site to be hosted in China for faster load times, better rankings in Baidu and to greater accessibility.
The user design and layout were developed to closely match Lectra specifications, including an end-to-end examination of website requirements, resulting in a 100% China-friendly microsite. The site is free of links to blocked sites, is easily discoverable by Chinese search engines and is optimized for a user experience preferred by Chinese visitors.
After transferring the content and database, the microsite was audited for extensive onsite optimization. WPIC reviewed keywords and produced an expanded keyword list with ranking, search volume and competitive analysis of list. Code was optimized and submitted to Baidu for indexing.
Lectra tools were built into the microsite and the site was deployed on an in-China server for stability and fast load times. WPIC provided ongoing maintenance, ensured CMS support, trained Lectra staff on microsite modifications, and planned, developed and implemented upgrades.
In the end, a fast-loading, mobile responsive and stable site was implemented on time and to Lectra’s specifications.
