About Vancouver International Airport

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of Canada’s busiest airports and a major gateway between North America and Asia.

YVR partnered with WPIC to develop a Chinese-language digital experience tailored to travellers using the airport.

Creating a More Useful Experience for Chinese Travellers

YVR needed more than a translated version of its existing website.

The goal was to create a localised digital experience that could provide Chinese-speaking travellers with timely, practical airport information in a format designed around their needs.

A key requirement was real-time flight information, which introduced additional technical complexity around data feeds, reliability, and system performance.

Building the Chinese-Language Website

WPIC designed and developed YVR’s Chinese-language website and integrated a real-time flight information system.

The infrastructure was built to support continuously updated flight data while maintaining the security and stability required for time-sensitive passenger information.

WPIC also developed the underlying architecture and documentation needed to support ongoing maintenance and future updates.

Results

YVR launched a dedicated Chinese-language website with real-time flight information, giving Chinese-speaking travellers easier access to essential airport information.

The project also gave YVR a stable technical foundation for maintaining and supporting the digital experience over time.
